(Raleigh, NC) – Despite recent news articles describing the North Carolina School Board Association’s Gubernatorial debate on education as only being between Democratic candidates, Justice Robert F. Orr announced that he has been committed to attend this debate for over two months.  The debate is part of the NCSBA’s annual conference and the audience will include nearly 550 school board members and administrators.

 “I look forward to not only discussing my plan for reforming our education system in North Carolina, but hearing what the other Gubernatorial candidates have to say on this issue,” said Justice Orr.  “The fact that one third of our students drop out before graduating high school shows how dire the need for education reform in our state is.  This isn’t an issue that only resonates with the Democratic Party and I hope this debate will show voters how committed I am to addressing this problem in our state.”
