| Wednesday, April 23, 2008 Orr Asks NC GOP to Refrain from Running Ad |
|
Raleigh, NC: Republican gubernatorial candidate Justice Bob Orr issued a statement today requesting the NC GOP state party refrain from running an ad linking democratic gubernatorial candidates Richard Moore and Beverly Perdue to Barack Obama’s controversial preacher.
“I join Senator McCain and others in asking Chairman Daves to withdraw this ad.” Orr said. “There are numerous grounds based upon the issues and their records to attack Moore and Perdue. We do not need to spend limited media dollars on some tenuous link between the two democratic candidates for governor and Reverend Wright. Let’s keep this campaign for governor focused on the issues and challenges facing North Carolina and the failures of the current administration and the legislative leadership to adequately address those challenges. Likewise, I am confident that Senator McCain will carry the fight to the ultimate nominee of the Democratic Party based the monumental differences between them concerning the security and well-being of our country – not on the ill-spoken statements of somebody’s preacher.” ### |
