Raleigh, NC: Justice Bob Orr, Republican candidate for Governor, is pleased to announce he has been endorsed by the Black Political Caucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg.
The Black Political Caucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg has endorsed Justice Orr in the Republican gubernatorial primary on May 6th, stating that they believe “Justice Orr is the most viable candidate and would be the most able to address the needs of African Americans in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community.”
Orr, who attended their recent endorsement event in Charlotte, said that he is appreciative of the support for his effort to become Governor of North Carolina. “I am pleased to be endorsed by the Black Political Caucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg. I believe that my ability to bring all the people of our State together as one community is critical. Issues like public education, crime, and economic opportunities can only be addressed if we work together.”
Justice Orr added, “I am also particularly pleased to have obtained the endorsement of an influential group in Mayor McCrory’s own city. However, I am concerned with Pat’s failure once again to reach out in his own community as shown by his failure to attend the meeting. For a Republican to win a statewide election, it is critical to reach out to people, even those who have not traditionally supported Republicans. I have attempted to do just that in each of my previous 4 winning statewide elections. My campaign is one of inclusion, not exclusion. I look forward to winning the GOP nomination and debating the democratic nominee in Charlotte in the fall.”
